Integration part 1

With the apartment until next month sorted out, it’s time to get integrated in my new temporary home town Albissola Marina.

And I would be me if our integration wouldn’t happen in the local bars and restaurants 🤫😂!

Our new friend at Il Figgeu Du Carruggiu

I started in the hotel we stayed in during the first few days. The owner pours a nice glass of prosecco and from there we slowly move into town the explore the rest of the local hospitality.

From one restaurant to another and from one bar to another. Don’t laugh at me. This is very important for when the girls arrive with their entourage. They would honestly kill me if I by the time would not know which places to go for breakfast, lunch, coffee, drinks or dinner 😉

So I did my homework. In short, my favourites are:

  • Què de cafè, delicious coffee "cafè", the best brioche con crèma and delicious fresh orange juice or spremuta.

  • Il Figgeu Du Carruggiu who serves you a delicious glass of wine accompanied by wonderful prosciutto and cheese. Especially his fresh Ricotta is excellent.

  • NININ is a focacceria wine shop-wine bar and you get delicious Ligurian pizzas also in small pieces as apperativo. My preference: di cipolle! By the way, he has a nice wine collection.

So if you ever travel to the Ligurian coast with a stop in Albissola Marina, you now know where to go …

And my integration has been quite successful. By New Year’s Eve all the kids where back to their homes and we were with the two of us again. So time to find out what happens in an small Italian sea resort without any foreign tourist this time of year.

Well they adopted us👏 😘. The nice estate agent became Simone and the owners of NINIM became Walter and Nicol. We had a great party which left me hoarse for three days. So my voice was back just in time for the next party: my birthday. Again we had a lovely day shared with our new local friends.

You understand that I am leaving with pain in my heart. But it is time to move on further south.

Ciao tutti, until the next stop.
