The development of Easy Urban Gardening
Right now I only have to tend to my garden 5 minutes a day. I’m able to grow all my favourite vegetables in a small place and don’t have to worry about pesticides. I make delicious home cooked meals straight from my patio onto my dinner plate with no fuss! I never thought growing your own vegetables could be so easy!
I remember when I was a child, my parents had a vegetable garden and they worked so hard on it. I remember how labour intensive it was and how much time it took from them. It was not possible for me to spend this much time and energy on growing my food. Also, we then lived in a house and had a garden to grow vegetables in - I did not think this would be possible living in an apartment in town!
A few years ago I was diagnosed with cancer and on my road to recovery, I became very connected to the impact the food we eat has on our health. I became determined in finding a way to grow my own vegetables toxic free and be able to consume them fresh from the garden, retaining more of their precious nutrients. I started researching for solutions and could not really find something that fit my needs.
After some intensive research and studying various systems like the 19th century French Culture Maraîchère, the Dutch Makkelijke Moestuin and the American Square Foot Gardening system of Mel Batholomew, I decided to become a certified SFG instructor.
I created my Easy Urban Gardening-system, specifically design for raised beds or containers on balconies and terraces in town, based on Mel’s mission to help everybody enjoy fresh harvested vegetables without the exhaustive work.
Gardening can be fun, simple, easy to understand and quick to realise. I have the joy of growing my own vegetables with just 5 minutes work a day. On just 60x60cm and I grow them all year round.
My Easy Urban Gardening-system is now available to you and I will hold your hand, guide you through the simple steps of how you too can start enjoying the abundant joy and benefits of harvesting your own vegetables.
