Matera

After an enchanting coastal route, we arrive in Matera.

I booked a B&B at the Residence I Due Fratelli. I am welcomed by a nice lady who speaks excellent English.

Oh no, I have to climb stairs again😳 But I adjusted: Mini Suitcase for short stays😂 A spacious flat with a shared kitchen. Jeez, the kitchen is really well equipped. Furthermore, a lovely bed and spacious bathroom. And for me a happy surprise - delicious coffee☕️!

I unpack, take a quick shower to refresh myself and off we are into town. Matera, here I come to admire you😃

Matera from poorest to amazing town

What a beautiful and lively town this is, big and small squares, many terraces, beautiful shops and good food. A true metamorphosis, because in 1950 it was still the poorest area of Italy.

Eight o'clock, dinner time. On the advice of our hostess, I go and find restaurant Nadi. Well, I probably walk past it 4 times, but in the dark I can't find it. I am fed up and walk into MoMAng. Jackpot!

Very cosy, nicely laid tables, and food and wine from the region. The owner is very enthusiastic and tells me everything about the regional food and wines. What a nice man.

Another great short stay during our amazing adventures in Italy.
