Pitigliano

Hey nice, you are back!

Today I'm going to Pitigliano, it's nice weather so a nice sunny trip awaits. Of course I will take the most beautiful route marked with green. Driving time about an hour and a half. It is really worth the detour!

What a picturesque old town. Bit dangerous living on the edge of the abyss 😳Fortunately, I understand that most of the houses still standing are safe. The houses that are wobbly are empty. Jeez just imagine living like this. I am a little dubious.

I walk up and down through the city centre, sometimes quite steeply. I train my leg muscles. Pfff. But it' s nice, really Italian with all those little alleys and the most beautiful views I encounter.

It is interesting how I have to climb to doors in order to reach a restaurant entrance at an angle. Ha, ha can you imagine it😂 But all kidding aside, this is really worth it.

You really need to go and see this.

After a simple lunch I leave for Montefiascone via the lake of Bolsena. There I take the main road to Tarquinia. The B&B is booked and we are expected.

The host apps from what time on I can check in, but on arrival, he is very short. He is stressed because of corona. He has to take our temperature, the green passes have to be checked, my passport copied, I get an explanation about the use of the tea or coffee cups that are behind glass in the hallway. And all that because of corona.🤨 I get a voucher to have breakfast tomorrow morning in the bar around the corner. OK….

Finally he shows me the room. It looks like a boudoir 😂 and everything is disinfected. Tell me honestly, could you sleep in a four-poster bed with closed curtains and the stench of disinfectants?????? All fine I'll just open the doors to the terrace, make a cup of tea and sit outside until the room is aired properly.

By the way, if you like to work out in the open you should book here. Its outdoor space is really well looked after: Tarchon Luxury B&B.

So, touristy Targuinia will have to wait a little longer, because it's time for 🍕 and a nice glass of wine.🤗
