En route again

After a quick Italian breakfast with a glass of spremuta 😋 and a delicious caffè, the journey continues. I take the A12 to Rome and then via a beautiful coastal road to Ánzio. My final destination is Terracina.

It is such a lovely weather, I spontaneously stop at a beach promenade with a cozy place and beautiful terrace. Great! Lunchtime!

These are holidays! Terrace, nice chair and something to drink.

I announce myself at the entrance and I am lucky, there is still a space available. Delicious! The lunch menu is very much to my liking. I'm sure you can already feel what I'm ordering.

Has to be something straight from the sea, of course. Difficult, difficult, there are so many good things on the menu😋🐟🦐 My attention is drawn to a salad with warm and cold shellfish. My choice is made. A glass of wine and life is good!

Leaning back in the sun and enjoying a prosecco, I quietly wait for what is to come. You have to take your time because I keep discovering that Italians take their time.

Ah, here comes the waitress, oy, she doesn't look happy😒 My plate has fallen down and now everything has to be made again. Now what? You get the idea, the sun is lovely, 15 minutes longer doesn't matter and the co-driver gets an extra glass. Problem solved.

The wait has paid off👏 The salad is absolutely delicious, tomatoes, mussels, clams, shrimps and perfectly marinated squid on a bit of rocket and lamb's lettuce😋. Another cup of cafè and I'm ready to go again.

The sun starts to set so we’re on the move again.

On to Terracina. The B&B is a bit difficult to find but the host knows the problem and is waiting for us. My macchina is allowed to stay on the private property. Luxury says it all😂. It is nice that our host speaks English as well as German. The room is nice and big with a terrace that opens onto the garden.

This is going to be two days of pure enjoyment.

Enough written for now. It’s 8 o'clock and we’re off to a pizzeria on the owner's urgent recommendation.
