Paestum

Paestum was a major ancient Greek city on the southern Italian shores and nowadays famous for its three ancient temples in excellent state of preservation.

You should definitely visit. The ancient Greek temples are really worthwhile. Especially at sunset, I like them at their best.

It's lovely to take such a quiet walk between the temples, knowing that you are walking on the paths that the ancient Greeks laid down.

In the steps to the temples are phosphor stones that light up as soon as it gets dark. So, even in those days they had street lighting. Fascinating!

After a great history lesson, I walk into the village and up the beach to one of the many terraces. Ha, a nice refreshment.

I won't soon forget this refreshment.

Within ten minutes, everything was full and a saxophonist had set up shop and had come to play an evening of music just for fun.

Beautiful weather, great music, nice drinks and snacks, it turned into a late night. 😉
